We’re thrilled to announce the winners and notable entries of the competition! Congratulations to the winners and notable entries – your creativity, perspective, and passion for capturing moments truly shone through every frame!

The Junior Photographers – Home is Where the Heart Is: National Photography Competition for Kids is now open for entries from children ages 5–18. Capture the people, places, and little moments that make you feel at home. Whether it’s family dinners, cozy hugs, or quiet traditions—show us what “home” means to you.

Three winners will be selected in each of the four age groups, and all winning entries will be featured on the Junior Photographers Website.

Judging Criteria:

  • Effort & Intent: Does the photo reflect care, thoughtfulness, or planning? We recognize effort at every age level.
  • Technical Quality: Is the photo clear and well-composed? Are lighting, focus, and framing used effectively (based on age group)?
  • Emotional Impact: Does the photo tell a story or make the viewer feel something? Is there a strong mood or message?
  • Relevance to Theme: Does the photo clearly connect to this month’s theme?

Theme Description

What makes a place feel like home? For this month’s theme, we want you to capture the moments, people, and details that make your world feel safe, loved, and full of heart.

“Home” doesn’t have to be a house. It might be your grandma’s kitchen, your favorite couch, a sibling’s smile, or a family pet curled up next to you. Maybe it’s a shared meal, a quiet moment, or a family tradition that happens every November.

Through your photo, show us what “home” looks like to you—not just as a place, but as a feeling. We want to see warmth, connection, and love in whatever way your family shows it. Whether you come from a big family, a small one, or a chosen one, this theme is about the people (and pets!) who make your heart feel full.

This is your chance to slow down, notice the little things, and celebrate the moments that matter most.
